Discover De Leon Springs RV rentals for memorable road trips

The small town of De Leon is located in central Florida, a short drive west of Daytona Beach. The town is named for Juan Ponce de León, a Spanish explorer who is one of the first European conquistadors to map out Florida. It is said that Juan Ponce de León spent a great deal of his life in search of the fabled “Fountain of Youth”, which he believed to be in Florida. The town and nearby De Leon Springs State Park are both named for the explorer due to the natural springs that could have once been mistaken for the mythic fountain.

The Great Outdoors

Florida is blessed with a lot of nature preserves, state parks, spectacular beaches, and popular national parks, so no matter where you rent an RV in the state, you are bound to stumble upon some excellent outdoor areas. De Leon Springs State Park is a natural place to start your trip, found on the outskirts of town adjacent to Spring Garden Lake. The park is built around a natural spring that churns out more than twenty million gallons of water each day from deep underground. The park is home to lots of fascinating archaeological sites, including two canoes dating back over 5,000 years ago making them the oldest canoes found in the Western Hemisphere. You can hike through the park and see some stunning wildlife like sleepy alligators, manatees seeking warmer waters in wintertime, and soaring bald eagles. Canoeing, kayaking, and fishing can be enjoyed in the main spring run and guests may even swim in the smaller spring pool. Bulow Creek State Park is farther away by the coast and full of southern live oaks, some of which are among the oldest in existence. You cannot camp at the park in your De Leon Springs RV rental, but primitive camping, hiking, canoeing, and picnicking are acceptable ways to utilize the coastal park.

RV Parks

Of all the states in the country, Florida might just be the best for RV camping due to the sheer number of parks and campgrounds located in the state. In Ocala National Forest, there are plenty of places to camp with your De Leon camper rental, with incredible views and a peaceful atmosphere. Deland/St. Johns River KOA is a place to camp out to the south of town, with its own snack bar, pavilion, and fishing pond.

Town Attractions

De Leon Springs has very few attractions to call its own, but there are some interesting places to check out in the surrounding towns and areas. Before you head off to see them, you can visit the Strawn Historic Citrus Packing House District which contains 12 historic buildings and three additional structures. The abandoned packing house and factory are the last remnants of the facility that was started in 1882.

Our camper was great, however, we recommended you guys to our friends, The Collins family and to say they had a less than desirable experience would be an understatement. We have rented from you guys multiple times and will again in the future but the unit that was delivered to my friends was in horrible condition and ended up not only having maintenance/repair issues, when it came to repairing it they didn't even bother to turn on the AC to cool the unit down and it smelled horrible for the duration of the stay. They are gracious people and not sure they would say anything but as a repeat customer and the person that referred them, i felt compelled to convey my issues.

Manny & Isabel absolutely provided 5-star service! Communication was prompt & excellent, and the unit was in excellent condition. When we showed up, Manny & Isabel were there to greet us warmly, and the RV was completely setup (hook-ups connected, front door mat unrolled, chairs setup, and even the grill was out & ready for use). I have rented many RVs, but this was the first time we used the delivery & setup... it made for such an easy experience that we'll definitely do it again. And we would rent this unit from Manny & Isabel again in a heartbeat - can't overstate how nice everything was & that they seemed to have every "do you have this?" item covered!
