I had so much fun in this van, and even survived a tsunami warning. šŸ˜‚ For me, this was the absolute best way to see Maui on a tight budget. This was kind of a last minute trip for me, and the owners were so accommodating, and the van was so comfy. Best bed I’ve had in a camper van yet. I drove it all the way down the road to Hana, which was no small task. You need to be very confident in your driving skills to tackle this in such a large vehicle. It is an older vehicle which I’m used to driving, but don’t expect power windows and backup cameras. This is old school baby, and totally fun. 😁 Make sure you book all your campsites before you get to the island. It is highly unlikely you will luck into open spots, and there is no car camping on the whole island. One of my campsites did get canceled at the last second because of the Tsunami warning from the earthquake in Russia, so I did have to try to find somewhere to stay last second, but so did half the island. Talk about a once in a lifetime occurrence. But I did end up managing to camp at the overflow parking lot at Mount Haleakala, and saw the best sunrise of my life, laying down in the comfy bed, wrapped in blankets and giddy to be out of the wind, and toasty warm. (I lucked into a 3am pass at the last second) Unfortunately, someone did steal the gas cap from the car at some point for when I went to fill it up the first time it was missing. But I was able to meet back up with the owner and get a new one the next day. Benefit of it being a small island you can get most everywhere pretty quick. I only cooked one night in the van and there was propane and cooking equipment to use, which was very convenient. Also had a really great cooler in the car which kept all drinks and other food items nice and cold. It’s a trip I’ll remember forever, and would absolutely rent from them again.

Super sick RV, has everything you need for maui. Hot shower was nice, plenty space for two people. No issues this trip and van handled bumpy roads past hana well.

The van was perfect, and Joe explained any little quirks at the start. He even offered to pick me up at the airport for my early checkin.
