Upper Lake Creek Campground

This remote site is located within the Jim McClure-Jerry Peak Wilderness. It is in an evergreen grove that is only reachable by foot or horseback because it’s located approximately 5 miles beyond the road closure at Herd Lake Overlook. If you are willing to make the trek to this isolated area, you may share the terrain with elk, antelope and the occasional red-tailed hawk.

5 miles hiking distance from the Herd Lake Overlook (off of the East Fork Salmon River Road south of Challis, Idaho). This site is within the Jim McClure-Jerry Peak Wilderness. Access is via hiking or horseback; no mountain bikes or other mechanized travel allowed.

Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
