Discover Bethany RV rentals for memorable road trips

Bethany is a village in Moultrie County, in the state of Illinois. The county was formed in 1843 with sections that were to be taken from neighboring counties Macon, Shelby, and Coles. Macon donated a strip of “worthless swamp” that later turned out to be highly fertile and valuable. Moultrie County was named after South Carolina General and Governor William Moultrie who fought the British at Sullivan's Island; he also designed the “Moultrie Flag” which flew over the fort at Sullivan's Island and later became an iconic symbol of liberty in the south. The flag is now the official flag of Moultrie County, Illinois.

Exploring The City

A good place to start your adventure in and around Bethany is with a local orchard where you can stock up on fruits that you have picked yourself right off of the tree. The orchard has a playground for kids that might even interest the adults (a very fast slide) and farm animals that guests can view. A repertory theater is also worth checking out, with plays, musicals, and even a film projector showing older classic and alternative movies. The seats are designed so that everyone has a good view, and the acoustics are superb.
