The Great Outdoors

There is much to see and do in Kentucky, particularly with regard to its diverse smattering of nature parks and recreation areas. Around every corner lies some sort of campground or lakefront nature space where you can park your Monticello RV rental and make it your temporary home. Nearby Lake Cumberland has a vast surface area, with many small parks dotting its shores. General Burnside Island State Park is one such place that you will find to be an absolute delight. The park is named for General Ambrose Burnside, a Union general who stationed his troops on the small island during the Civil War. The park has lake access for boaters, campgrounds, and one of the best golf courses in the entire state.

RV Parks

There is no shortage of places to camp when you book a motorhome rental near Monticello. Lake Cumberland RV Park and Golf Driving Range could be a nice place to stay for a few days, with a refreshing indoor pool and a large driving range to practice your golf swing.

City Sightseeing

Monticello is neither the largest nor the liveliest of towns, but you will find a charming atmosphere when you visit the town for your next vacation. There are plenty of barbecue restaurants with succulent Southern-style cooking in the city, along with wineries, taverns, art galleries, antique shops, and a smattering of other locally owned businesses that you can peruse while you venture through town on foot. Historic homes are a delight to see while you walk around the town, like the Brown-Lanier House, the West-Metcalfe House, or the Raccoon John Smith House, all of which are among the first buildings erected in this historically rich town. The West-Metcalfe House even served as a headquarters for three different Civil War generals, adding to its historical significance.

Prompt and clear communication, we had a smooth pick up and drop off experience with Andrea and her husband. Be prepared to drive on a small, gravel backroad if you are picking up the camper. Thanks guys!
