5Great truck! Camping on Kauai is a bit tricky — you need to book well in advance and there are only a few public campgrounds to choose from. We stayed at Kumu Camp and it was nice. Good amenities and right on the beach. The rooftop camper setup is easy. Its really wet on Kauai so it did get a bit damp in there. The mattress in the camper isn’t super supportive so I’d recommend bringing camping mats to put underneath or on top of the built in mattress. All in all we loved the truck and had a ton of fun on the island in it, and the gear included was really nice.

1Eventhough the "owner" Justin provided us with a great guide on the island and great restaurants the vehicle itself did not live up to any promises and expectations. It started with a check-in with no intro to the car, but a clear message to inspect the car in detail and to take pictures. Doing this the car had a huge dent, the toolboxes (as shown on pictures and videos) were both broke and not to be closed or locked anymore, the table that came with the car was rusty and broke (see pictures) and there were some really unpleasent old & dirty belongings from previous renters still in the car. Furthermore, the tent is not the one shown on the pictures and "intro video" on setting it up. Also the "owner" never officially started the trip, not making it possible for us to upload pictures of retrieving the car to Outdoorsy on pick-up Kauai itself was great and is highly to recommend, just not with this car. Especially as the owner then also claimed the full security deposit - claiming we did not fill up the car, even though we provided evidence for this. Not the best end of a honeymoon :(
