The biodiversity of the lake means that it is home to an abundant number of fish species, many of which are only found here. The main sporting fish found in Caddo Lake is the largemouth bass, a number of which can reach over eight pounds. Alongside the largemouth bass, there are also back bass, smallmouth bass, crappie, channel catfish, and sunfish. Caddo Lake campers can fish from miles and miles of shoreline, and the on-site fishing pier, this means you are sure to find your very own spot.

Camping at Caddo Lake

Those RV camping at Caddo Lake will have a number of choices when it comes to picking at a campsite. Campsites can be found on either side of the lake in both Louisiana and Texas. ‘Country Haven RV Park’ is located on the Louisiana edge of the lake and is an ideal place for those with an RV. Full hookups are provided here, including 20, 30, 50 amp electric, water, and sewer. Facilities include flushing toilets, shower blocks, laundrettes, and free WiFi. Pets are welcome at Country Haven RV Park but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Exploring the Area

An hour’s drive from Caddo Lake will take campers to the city of Longview, TX, home of the Longview Museum of Fine Art. This museum welcomes both the most ardent art enthusiast, as well as those with little knowledge of the subject. Since the late 1950s, the Longview Museum of Fine Art has been a key institution within the city, and it is easy to see why it has lasted throughout the decades. With an ever-changing range of exhibitions, the museum is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the city of Longview. Visitors will leave the museum with a new-found appreciation for the world of art.
