Borderland State Park is also easily accessible from all of the nearby towns such as Mansfield and Stoughton.
Borderland State Park is a mountain biker's paradise and is one of the best-ranked riding areas in the state. This is largely due to its lack of intermediate level trails and more hard technical trails that are better suited to an experienced rider. There are also some single tracks located at the northern end of the park, but be prepared to face lots of rocks and roots. There are even a few 'bare rock' trails, which adds to the difficulty of the terrain.

There are many lakes scattered throughout the state park, which are commonly used for ice skating for those that rent a camper near Borderland State Park in the winter months and canoeing when the weather gets a little warmer. Other activities in the park include a well-used disc golf course, tennis facilities, mansion tours, horse riding, and simply spending time picnicking with friends and family.
