Located between Route 128 and the Charles River, Cutler Park Reservation covers 739-acres and is home to the largest remaining freshwater marsh on Charles River. Camping at Cutler Park Reservation opens up a world of outdoor recreation for adventure seekers. 

While the southern end of the park lies in the town of Dedham, Cutler Park Reservation is near the town of Waltham. If you’re looking out for a short hike, try the 1.5-mile long Kendrick Pond Loop Trail that showcases the major highlights of the park.

The wetlands attract birds of all hues and sizes, including great blue herons, warblers, hawks, Canada geese, mute swan, mallard, American black duck, hooded merganser, mourning dove, ring-billed gull, and red-bellied woodpecker among dozens of other species. 

Fishing at Kendrick Pond is an enjoyable experience. Fish species found here include chain pickerel, white bass, yellow perch, largemouth bass, and calico bass. You could fish from the shore of the pond, or if you prefer, take your canoes or kayaks into the pond. Fishing in Charles River is also an option. Winter months open up the trails for cross-country skiing.

There’s a swimming pool for the kids to splash about in and a playground to run around. A recreation room, golf, gym, outdoor courts, and Pickleball are the other forms of recreation at the resort. 

If you’re looking for a place to camp in an RV near Cutler Park Reservation, drive to Canoe River Campground in Mansfield. There are 300 campsites, and campground amenities include pull-thru sites, big rig access, tent camping, full hookups, 20, 30, and 50 amp electric service, sewer, water, dump station, central water spigot, WiFi, and cell phone coverage. Also available are restrooms, shower stalls, laundry facilities, a camp store for last-minute camping essentials, café, clubhouse, and a designated pet area for your four-legged friends. Let the kids run about in the playground or splash about in the swimming pool. There’s a recreation room too, along with fishing, boating, and outdoor courts.

Just over 18 miles from Cutler Park Reservation is the bustling city of Boston.
