Bay City Campground

Much of Michigan’s lakeshore is lined with state parks, making recreation spots incredibly easy to find for those renting an RV near Bay City Campground. Bay City Campground itself is part of Bay City State Park, a beloved getaway for city folk who want to relax and swim during summer vacation. Besides camping and hiking, guests can enjoy biking, fishing, swimming, hunting, birdwatching, and kayaking while visiting or camping at Bay City State Park. Sleeper State Park and Port Crescent State Park can be found over on the “thumb” of Michigan’s lower peninsula. When you bring your campervan rental to Sleeper State Park, you can camp out on the lake shores of Lake Huron, hike, bike, fish, or cross-country ski during Michigan's snowy winters. Port Crescent State Park is equally impressive, known particularly for its Dark Sky Preserve Status. Mesmerizing night skies at the park draw crowds from all over Michigan to see constellations, meteor showers, planets, and other astronomical phenomena in the cosmos. Camping, hiking, swimming, and fishing are also popular at Port Crescent State Park, much like its sister park, Sleeper State Park. Huron National Forest is one of the state’s largest natural areas, with over half a million acres of wilderness to trek. Lush forests, raging rivers, tranquil creeks, lofty mountains, and hidden campsites are scattered throughout this treasured forest, but why stop there? Isle Royale National Park way up by the Canadian border gives you a chance to see the state’s lone national park. This remote island is tricky to reach but well worth the effort when you feel like seeing a slice of natural paradise than only a small portion of people visit every year.
