Birch Run was originally created as a station along the Pere Marquette Railroad before slowly gaining traction and popularity, becoming an official settled area in 1955. The area was given the name Birch Run for the local creek that runs through a large patch of birch trees. The name was at one time switched to Deer Lick before being reverted back to Birch Run.

Originally seven separate lakes that were combined into one through a dam, Seven Lakes is a fun fair weather day spot. Or, head over to Saginaw and explore the 10,000-acre expanse of Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge. Take a boat tour down the river, or hike through the many trails. Either of these locations would be an excellent spot to park your Birch Run camper rental as you set out to explore the outdoors.

You are in the Great Lakes Region, and the opportunities for water exploration are endless. Various sailing ship tours are available to take you into deep waters.
