Cheboygan is located at the far northern tip (the fingertips) of this mitten-shaped state, Michigan. It lies on the shores of Lake Huron, one of the five Great Lakes. The nearest larger town is Mackinaw City, around 15 miles away. From there, the Mackinac Bridge crosses the intersection point of Lakes Huron and Michigan and connects traveler's with Michigan's scenic, Upper Peninsula. The city of Petoskey is under an hour to the northeast.
