Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.
An hour west of the state capital Albany in upstate New York, Canajoharie lies on the south bank of the Mohawk River opposite Palatine Bridge. It is named after an Iroquois term for "the pot that washes itself", a geologic pothole commonly found on the bed of the Canajoharie Creek. Canajoharie was founded in 1730 as a European-American settlement, and a century later prospered as a market town on the Erie Canal. In the late 19th century, the baby food company Beech-Nut opened a small business here and remained in operation until 2011 when it moved to Amsterdam 22 miles away.
