Discover Kring Point State Park RV rentals for memorable road trips

Northcentral New York is a gorgeous place to visit, and an easy way to see it is to search for an RV in Jefferson County. This county is along the St. Lawrence River and is home to Kring Point State Park, which is part of a collection of over 1700 islands in the region. Kring Point, which is a narrow peninsula jutting out into the St. Lawrence, overlooks the Canadian-United States border and is surrounded by water and trees. The state park was originally established in 1898 as part of the St. Lawrence Reservation, and the area has since grown around it.

Getting Outdoors

Kring Point State Park is a peninsula into the St. Lawrence River, which means that water enthusiasts visiting the park will find plenty of activities to keep them busy. Depending on the time of year, guests may enjoy a leisurely dip into the waters of Goose Bay, or partake in a beach day while enjoying some sun rays. There are many boat access ramps in and near the park, so guests who are traveling with their boat attached to their rental RV can easily enjoy a day on the water.

Camping at Kring Lake State Park

There are over 100 campsites at the park in total, and approximately half of that total is available for those camping with an RV. These sites are interspersed throughout the park, ensuring that there are no large collections of RVs in one area to ruin any of the beautiful river views. All of the RV campsites have access to water and electricity at the sites themselves, and centrally located dump stations are available for guests to use when needed.

Exploring the Area

Alexandria Bay is one of the closest towns to the state park, and although it isn’t huge, it still has nearly everything a guest could want or need during their stay. A small collection of local restaurants are located in the downtown of Alexandria Bay, with options ranging from pizza to family-style dining, local cafes and bistros, pubs, and even a few fancier options. Alexandria Bay is also one of the more convenient places to fill up on gas.
