Getting Outdoors

When you’re out camping in a rental RV, nothing equals the simple thrill of an afternoon spent fishing with the kids. Since the main attraction to this exceptional state park is the massive lake, it’s not uncommon to see anglers trying their luck along the shores. To get the best of deep-sea fishing, book one of the Lake Ontario fishing charters and try out boat fishing. Some of the fish species to look out for include walleye, brown trout, and king salmon.

Camping at Lakeside State Park

Should the activities at the park sound sensational, wait until you get a feel of RV camping at Lakeside State Park. The state parks in New York are awesome, and Lakeside State Park is no exemption. Apart from the views of stunning Lake Ontario, the campground is quite serene. Even though the campsites have electric hookups only, there are water spigots and a dump station available. Some of the additional facilities include picnic tables, showers, and ADA-accessible playing fields.

Exploring the Area

When RV camping at state parks, always make an effort to explore the neighboring tourist attractions. Barely a stone’s throw away lies the Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum, which is home to a wide collection of antiques and spectacular overlooks of Lake Ontario. Should sea glass fascinate you, remember to pack a good camera in your Medina camper rental to take pictures of the sparkling gems. After a few hours by the lake, head over to the Cobblestone Society Museum to explore the incredible cobblestone building techniques.

We wanted to try it. This was my wife's and my first time traveling in an RV and we had a great week camping and exploring near the finger lakes. The camper van was in great shape and the host walked us thru essential operations. It was easy to drive, park and maneuver and we could easily disconnect and drive to wineries, water falls, and state parks. We learned some things such as this model wasn't for us. For example, I slept a couple nights in the pop-up tent on the roof which as very comfortable and I loved being able to look out the screen and see the harvest moon during our trip. But I'm getting too old to climb up and down a ladder a night to make my 2 to 3 trips to the head. That's nothing on the host and the renting taught us so much about what we'd want to look for in a camper van. If you're thinking about buying or renting one long-term, a short-term rental is definitely they way to go and Emily's is an excellent choice to try.

We rented this travel trailer for a weekend getaway last year. It was perfect for our needs, and our host was great!
