Schroon Lake is found nestled into the Adirondack Mountains of northeast New York, with the Vermont border being located only around 20 miles to the east. A tiny town, with the same name as the lake, sits on the western shore of this body of water. The nearest larger town is Ticonderoga, NY, located around 20 miles to the east, while the nearest larger city is Albany, NY which is located almost 100 miles to the south.
