RV rental Whetstone Gulf State Park, NY: Motorhome rentals, camper van rentals and more

After deciding to camp in a rental motorhome at Whetstone Gulf State Park, you’ll be stunned by the serenity of the campground. The 56 sites are set on woodland near a charming gorge and Whetstone Creek, just the perfect place to escape from the bustling cities. The campsites are fine if you’re interested in some dry camping as only electric hookups are provided. Additional amenities for your RV rental include dump stations, showers, and picnic tables. The hosts also supply firewood for sale. For recreation, campers have access to a lake popular with fishing, swimming, and canoeing. During the cold months, you will get to enjoy cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. Don’t leave your furry friends at home as two pets are allowed at each site. However, the pets must be kept on a leash all the time and have a current rabies certificate.

When your time RV camping at state parks is almost over, why not spare a couple of days and explore more tourist attractions in the region. Should the kids have tagged along, the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park is worth checking out. The spectacular sanctuary has a variety of wildlife, including mountain lions, bears, and hedgehogs. Kids will also love the Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo in Rome, where they get to pet, hold, and feed animals such as otters, lemurs, and pygmy goats. Point your Lowville camper rental towards the Old McDonald’s Farm for an interesting day with farm animals. The farm offers an educational adventure for children and adults alike. Apart from touring the dairy farm, younger kids will enjoy the Wizard of Oz-themed hayride as well as pony rides. There’s a gift shop where you’ll be able to buy souvenirs to carry home. If you’ve got some time left, spare some and visit the Fort Stanwix National Monument, which is popularly known as ‘the fort that never surrendered.’ Don’t leave the area before passing by one of the amusement parks in the area. Barely a stone’s throw away from the park lies the Enchanted Forest Water Safari in Old Forge. Visitors touring the amusement park get to enjoy bumper karts, rock climbing, and dozens of water rides. Have a go at the Sky Ride first as then you’ll get to decide what interests you while up there.
