Discover Kernersville RV rentals for memorable road trips

Kernersville is a small town in Forsyth County, North Carolina. A small part of the town's 17.4 square miles is located in Guildford County, making it the perfect size for exploring on foot. Kernersville was originally named “Dobson's Crossroads” (after property owner William Dobson), with a single hotel, Dobson's Tavern, that served breakfast to George Washington in 1791. In 1817, the hotel and property were purchased by Joseph Kerner and it became known as “Kerner's Crossroads”. In 1873, after the railroad had arrived, the town was incorporated as “Kernersville”.

The Great Outdoors

Hanging Rock State Park is 30 miles north and slightly west. It was created in the 1930s in the Sauratown Mountain range and offers a variety of activities and experiences. Its 20 miles of hiking trails lead to waterfalls and spectacular countryside views, and it has another 8.4 miles of mountain biking trails. Guests can go rock climbing but a permit is required. Visitors can go paddling on the Dan River, or swimming in a lake surrounded by hills and hardwood forests that extend down to the lakeshore. This 12-acre lake allows canoeing and is stocked for fishing. An on-site bathhouse provides restrooms and changing rooms, a snack bar, and a lounge with scenic lake views. Camping at Hanging Rock in your Kernersville RV trailer rental is possible but there are only basic amenities.

RV Parks

Exploring The City

Within the city, start with Fourth of July Park, the epicenter for most local events. Activities are held throughout the year, such as the Honeybee Festival, a number of short marathon (5K) events, and, obviously, Fourth of July fireworks. The park is wheelchair accessible and has hiking trails (maps are available), basketball, pickleball and tennis courts, an inline skating and skateboarding skate area, a playground with swings and slides, and three sheltered picnic areas with tables and outdoor grills. Lindsay was an awesome host. The trailer was amazing. She was very easy to communicate with just for simple questions during my trip. She was very accommodating. This trailer was very nice and clean as advertised. I will definitely book with her in the future.

We had a wonderful trip. The RV was great, and Bill was very responsive when we did have a question both leading up to the trip and during the trip.
