Lake Glenville is a hidden gem in the rain forest of southwestern North Carolina. This mountain lake was created during the World War II-era by damning the Tuckasegee River. Previously known as Thorpe Reservoir, Lake Glenville is also fed by three waterfalls and several other mountain streams such as Cedar and Pine. Other than its clear and deep blue waters, the lake's high elevation offers incredible views. With an attitude of roughly 3,492 feet meters above sea level, Lake Glenville has some of the most outstanding scenery. Lake Glenville lies approximately eight miles north of Cashiers and about 30 miles away from Sylva.
