Located approximately 39 miles from Bradford and eight miles from Warren Chapman State Park is known for its tranquility. The park covers 862 acres of land and is home to 68-acre Lake Chapman. The lake is popular among Warren campers in part due to its great fishing, swimming, and boating. The lake provides a habitat for both warm and cold-water fish. Other than water recreation, there are a variety of activities, including hunting, hiking, and picnicking. For winter folks, the park offers cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. There are five shelter pavilions and a huge picnic area overlooking the lake. Chapman State Park serves as a trailhead for several trails leading to the adjacent forest. In addition to park recreation, Allegheny Forest surrounds the park and is home to a variety of wildlife.

Chapman State Park is a wonderful place to go boating. In addition to boating, the 68- acre manmade lake has over 40 mooring spaces. Guests require permits for launching and mooring. In summer, the park offers boat rental so that everyone may enjoy the refreshing waters.

Lake Chapman is popular among anglers thanks to its abundance of largemouth bass, bluegill, and sunfish. This lake is regularly stocked with brown and brook trout. Other species in lake waters include yellow perch and sucker. For ease of accessibility, there are fishing piers on the lake western and eastern shorelines. Fishing in the streams is also permitted. Located within the Allegheny Forest, the West Branch of Tionesta Creek yields excellent catches of fish.

Camping at Chapman State Park

Chapman State Park offers a rustic campground with 81 campsites. This wooded campground has a mix of electric and non-electric sites spread across two loops. Although there are no water hookups water faucets are easily accessible. Most sites can accommodate trailers and RVs of up to 60 feet.
