For a short drive, consider Ray Roberts State Park (Isle du Bois or Johnson) or even a little drive out to Lake Bridgeport (Wise County Park). Both have been excellent locations for us!Other things to noteTowing Requirements:
Empty Trailer - 5200 lbs
Max GVWR - 7000 lbs
with all tanks full it will weigh 6200 lbs plus your stuff. Please ensure your vehicle has a tow capacity of at least 7000 lbs (I tow with a half-ton 2002 Silverado). The hitch weight is a bit stout at 685 lbs. Be sure you have a hitch that can support this weight. I will be including a weight-distribution hitch. You will need a 7-pin connector and an electric brake controller. If you do not have a brake controller I have a wireless unit (requires a smart phone) that will be added to your rentalIf you have any questions, please message me!

Frequently asked questions
Q.
What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
It depends, I do have a full-time job so I would need to make arrangements. I try my best to accommodate requests and make this an enjoyable and convenient experience. I work and live within 10 minutes of the drop-off location.
Q.
Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
I will take you through all of the equipment and onboard features when you pick up the RV and am happy to answer your questions prior to rental. Right now we are set up mostly for going to state parks and having the rig hooked up to 30 amp service with water. I do not have generators or solar equipment at this time but will be adding these features in the future of some boondocking.
Q.
How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
I will show you this when you come to pick it up. I will take care of the dumping for you for an extra charge. There is a black tank to drain, a gray tank from the rear bathroom, and a front gray tank for the kitchen. It is fairly easy to too and it will take about 10-15 minutes at the camp site to drain them. The black tank also has a dedicated flush setup, no messy cleaning required. I provide an electric cable for 30amp service and can provide some adapters if needed.
