Overview

Liberty is a completely updated 1981 Burro vintage camper that can be pulled by most vehicles. FAQS What does it cost to rent a camper? Our trailers cost $91 a night. We charge a $40 cleaning fee. What kind of vehicle do I need to tow a pull behind trailer? Any vehicle with a towing capacity of 1000 – 1500 lbs., such as a Subaru Outback, Honda CRV, or any 6-cylinder SUV. The ball size is 1 7/8. The tow vehicle must be equipped with a four prong connector. This will run the brake lights and turn signals on the Burro. The electrical outlets in the Burro are powered by the car battery. Can I rent a trailer for more than 7 days? Yes, please call 323-365-3616 to book longer than one week. We will require a 50% deposit to hold your reservation. How old do I have to be to rent a camper? You must be at least 25 years of age. Do I need insurance? Yes, you need to carry your own full coverage auto insurance and you must notify your carrier that you will be towing a camper with your vehicle. If rented on Outdoorsy.com, they will provide the insurance. How many people can sleep in each camper? The Burro sleeps 1-3 people. The dinette converts to a double bed, and the bench seat sleeps one. Let us know if you need bedding and we can include it. If you are tall, you might prefer the extra space of our upcoming Fiber Stream rental (Summer 2018). How do I back up my car with a trailer on the back? Backing a trailer is a skill to learn and takes time to get good at it. The basics are simple; the trailer turns the opposite way that the tow vehicle turns. These little trailers respond quickly so take it slow. Make small incremental turns then watch how the trailer responds. Take your time and make sure the area around the vehicle is clear. Look out for branches, poles and fire hydrants. LOADING UP Make sure all your supplies are stowed safely in the storage compartments or on the floor. Contents will shift when you drive (that includes curtains, curtain rods, cabinet doors, closet door). If you have heavy items place them over the axle and on the floor. Evenly distribute weight around the trailer to get the best towing performance. If your vehicle is riding low in the back because of the trailer tongue weight put more of the contents over the axle instead. There should be 100-200 lbs on the tongue of the trailer. HOOKING UP AND TOWING • Towing • Take down scissor jacks. • Line up trailer and ball • Lower trailer onto ball, use lever lock to secure it in place • Push down ball lock, then lock it with the padlock • Attach chains • Connect 4 prong, check lights • Close all the windows • Close vent • Check for any loose items or items that should be on the floor • Lock door • Remove castor under front jack • And off you go!! BACKING A TRAILER Backing a trailer is a skill to learn and takes time to get good at it. SET UP Find a flat spot. • Orient the trailer door towards your campsite • Put in wheel chocks (wheel blocking to keep trailer from rolling), use provided chocks ora rock or piece of firewood. • Lower hitch leg, unlock hitch and turn handle on hitch leg until hitch coupler lifts off of ball • Remove chains and electrical attachment to vehicle • Put scissor jacks under back bumper down. Under the front right seat is hand jack. Hand tighten them. They do not need to be tight. They stabilize the rocking of the camper when you are inside. They are not essential but provide stability. You are now set up to enjoy your camping experience. Jasmine was great. She made the pick up and drop off very easy. The Burro is adorable. Exactly as advertised.

Jasmine was great to work with and the Burro, while small, has plenty of storage space and perks to enjoy! My partner and I had a fabulous adventure into the dessert with the Burro and had a blast! Jasmine was extremely helpful in getting us hitched and ready to go. We hope to take another...

Jasmine's rental was very clean & well organized. She's helpful and pro-active on the communication for picking up & dropping off the trailer. I'd definitely rent from her again!
