One of the most popular recreational lakes in the state of Tennessee is Old Hickory Lake, and for a good reason. There are a number of wonderful parks surrounding the shores, and outdoor enthusiasts choose to book an RV in Davidson County all year to enjoy boating, fishing, walking, and more. Old Hickory Lake covers an area of 22,500 acres, and there is plenty of room for everyone, as it extends for 97.3 miles.

You can find Old Hickory Lake in North Central Tennessee. The lake is a manmade reservoir created by the building of the Old Hickory Lock and Dam on the Cumberland River. The town of Old Hickory is on the south side of the lake, and Hendersonville is on the north side. The busy city of Nashville is just around 25 miles downstream. Other towns worth checking out include Gallatin and Lebanon.

As well as making use of the bait launches for small fishing vessels, piers are located in various points around the shore, such as Rockland and Sanders Ferry.

For those that don't fancy getting into the water, there are two well-maintained swimming beaches for the public to enjoy, while nature lovers can enjoy one of the many country hikes available.
