Every year since 1991, the town of Snook has hosted the Chilifest Music Festival at the beginning of April. The event now attracts over 35,000 people to the two-day event, and it showcases local Texas bands with some of the biggest names in country and rock music.

Washington on the Brazos State Historic site is known as the birthplace of Texas. On March 1, 1836, delegates from Texas met to announce the state’s intention of separating from Mexico. The town almost became the state capital. It’s a lovely area to visit, with historic buildings, antique shops, and a beautiful location on the Brazos River.
