Just north of town is the Armand Bayou Nature Center in Pasadena. Additionally, if you want to see the park from another perspective, you can join a guided canoe tour or even a nighttime hike to get an even stronger understanding of the beauty of the area.

A short drive south of town is the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge near Lake Jackson. At just under 45,000 acres, this wildlife preserve is actually more water than land.
