Recommended RV Campgrounds and Attractions around Killeen, TX
If you're looking for a nice, clean, affordable RV park in the vicinity of Georgetown, Texas and you don't want to be too far from the interstate, then the New Life RV Park will tick a lot of boxes for you. Although the highway is close by, the noise is not a problem, and the access more than makes up for it. The park is really well laid out and noticeably clean, with nice, long pull throughs for those bigger rigs and extra long motor homes. You will find a full range of hookups at your fingertips as well as free wifi on demand. An enclosed pet area is waiting to service your best friend's basic needs. Also at the park is a clean laundry, a great community recreation room, a sparkling pool and hot tub, and a supply store with a fantastic range of camping and outdoor goodies on the shelves.
Austin RV Park North is a very convenient campground located in the North Austin area, and is very easily accessible to travelers visiting Plugerville, Texas. Visitors will find the park located just one mile west of highway I35 in the gently rolling prairie land behind a small country neighborhood which is very quiet and secure. The park was originally established by an RV enthusiast who wanted a campground close to the interstate, but away from the associated noise and bustle. Austin RV Park North is basically a long term park, with hookups for all essential services, as well as free wifi. A big advantage of this park is that it is close to Austin, Pflugerville, and Round Rock attractions. The rates are all inclusive for long term stay, which basically covers the utilities and wifi. Unfortunately there are no amenities such as club house, pool, and organized activities at the park.
Not everyone thinks about play parks with the physically challenged in mind, but that's exactly what the city of Round Rock, Texas has done with the Play For All Park. Developed with the intention of providing a safe and educational play area for all children, the Play For All Park is 51,000 square feet of fun, outdoor environment that offers a safe area in which children can freely play and develop necessary skills. The park is geared toward children between 3 and 12 years of age, and has everything you'd expect to find from a large sand box, to a small town for riding bikes, scooters, and power wheels, to a huge playscape. Each different section of the park has special access for wheelchairs, and children of all abilities are able to play in each area. There are picnic sites for lunches and parties, with plenty of shade to help out in the warmer weather.
Spelunking. That's the technical name for this activity which will take you into the bowels of the earth, for an exploration of these amazing caves, lasting about an hour and a half. Using flash lights, your tour guide will lead you along a walkway underground as you discover some of the natural hidden delights and secrets of Georgetown, Texas. The caves are relatively warm inside, even in winter, and you will be amazed at the stunning natural formations waiting for you along this underground trail. Occasionally the calm and peacefulness of the caves may be disturbed by the flutter of little wings as bats take to the air, but it is their home that you are visiting after all, and they are certainly not out to get you. At some point your guide will stop and ask the group to switch off their flash lights, so you can fully appreciate the blackness.
This RV park will be a big hit with baseball fans, as it is situated right opposite the Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas. The park consists of many level gravel lots with pull throughs and hookups offering a choice of either 30 amp or 50 amp power, plus sewer and water. Suitable for big rigs, the Old Settlers RV Park offers adequate space with enough room to maneuver around. There are shady sites available, however a number of sites are occupied by long termers. The park is well located in that there are plenty of amenities close by, from the baseball field to walking trails, to restaurants and shopping centers. The park can get a little busy on weekends with baseball fans and their moms, but it does create a festive atmosphere. This park is reasonably priced and is not too far from Austin, but take note ? they don't take reservations, so call ahead is a good idea.
