The Great Outdoors

You don’t have to drive far with the Moody motorhome rental to find the great outdoors. Mother Neff State Park is a short drive away. On a stretch of the Leon River, this is one of the oldest state parks in Texas and a favorite weekend getaway for city dwellers from Waco. Inside the park, you can wander through beautiful canyons and see a vibrant array of wildflowers in the prairies. There is a mixture of easy hiking paths and trails for more experienced hikers. Highlights of Mother Neff State Park include a cave which once hosted the Tonkawa Indian Tribe and a rock tower which was constructed by the CCC.

RV Parks

When you need to recharge for another day in the great outdoors, take your Moody RV rental to one of the nearby RV parks. While there are no campgrounds in the city itself, you’ll find plenty within a 20-minute drive. You also have the option to spend the night in a rustic campsite in one of the state parks. Both Mother Neff State Park and Lake Whitney State Park are equipped with rustic campsites which provide full or partial hookups. Most sites are also equipped with picnic areas, drinking water, and access to restrooms.

Explore the City

The community of Moody doesn’t have the widest range of city attractions, but it does have some history to its name. In fact, the town takes its name from a Mr. William Lewis Moody who was a director of the railroad company. Prior to the arrival of the railroad, Moody was a charming agricultural area located a few miles northeast. The original settlement is known nowadays as Old Perry. By 1884, the new settlement was established next to the railroad stop and boasted cotton gins, churches, steam gristmills, and even a newspaper publication. Modern-day Moody is home to a handful of café’s, stores, and gas stations.

The camper itself was nice and clean, but we had some issues with communication. We chose delivery and set up and immediately after the host set up the camper and left, we realized from a horrible smell coming from the bathroom that the black tank was completely full. Additionally, the host didn’t tell us until drop off that there was no key for the camper, which would have been good to know ahead of time. The refrigerator took a very, very long time to cool down. Other times when we’ve rented campers for delivery, the host will turn the camper on for the drive over so that the camper will cool down before set up. The main bed is very comfortable, but you may want to bring mattress toppers for the bunk beds in the back. Finally, we had a really hard time getting in touch with the host for check out. Overall, the camper is very nice and worked well for our trip, but communication and hospitality could have been better.

This rig was greats fit our family of 6 perfectly. Would want a box fan for the bunk room to circulate air, but loved the defined spaces and having the vaulted living room was great.

Took two young tweens and my medium dog on a fishing, hiking, and rafting adventure from broken bow to the ozarks to the Smokey's and back. Dawn is fantastic, got us situated and confident to hit the road. The sprinter is awesome to drive and perfect to bounce around like we did. Even fully packed out with lots of warm bodies, super quick setup and takedown, plenty of engine oomph on steep grades, a/c was fantastic, couldn't recommend enough!
