Getting Outdoors

Hoover Lake is at the end of a narrow road in the heart of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, in a mountainous and beautiful location. The lake is a popular spot for anglers and is regularly restocked with brook trout, and you may also catch cutthroat trout here. The road is not great, so if you’re camping with an RV in the area, it is probably better to hike to Hoover Lake.

Camping at Hoover Lake

The nearest campground to Hoover Lake is Moosehorn Campground at Moosehorn Lake. The campground offers over 30 sites, but there are no electrical, water or sewer hook-ups here. You will need to bring all the water you need for drinking, cooking, and washing, as there are no water supplies. This really is back to basics camping! You will find a picnic table and fire ring at each site though, and there are vault toilets.

Exploring the Area

There are few if any facilities within the national forest, so make sure you stop at one of the towns before venturing further if you intend to camp overnight in your rental RV. Make sure you have plenty of drinking water, food, and fuel before setting off.

Dale and Daisy went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect trip. The entire process from booking to returning the rv was seamless. Excellent communication and would highly recommend.

Our first experience with 3 kids in an RV was phenomenal. We had everything we needed and James was just a phone call away if we had any questions about operating anything!! You will not be disappointed. Host and RV are both exceptional. Thanks so much James!!

Domingo was very helpful and friendly. This was my first time with an overlanding style vehicle, after a bit of a learning curve I could be set up to relax, cook, and sleep 5 minutes after parking. Great for using BLM land to see the area.
The off-road ability felt a little overkill for the highway driving we were doing but was nice piece of mind when pulling off the road to camp alone in the middle of nowhere.
Did not need to babysit the solar system, it ran the fridge 24hrs a day no problem (including in death valley in July) and we spent zero time parked with lid up during day.
We were getting about 240 miles per tank of gas, somewhere around 14 mpg.
