Discover Nephi

Nephi is a peaceful city in Utah, located along the Interstate 15 corridor south of Provo and Orem. The area was first used as a camping ground for Mormon settlers moving west on the Mormon Road but eventually, the spot was chosen to be a settlement of its own. The city is named for Nephi, a person in the Book of Mormon, a sacred text revered by the Mormon religion.

Nephi today is the seat of Juab County and the largest town in the Juab Valley agricultural area. When you book an RV in Nephi, you can see one of the most naturally beautiful states in the Union. Massive desert canyons, towering arches, lofty mountains, and forests galore: you can rent an RV essentially anywhere in Utah and have an amazing time.

Explore the Outdoors

Utah is a large state teeming with exciting outdoor recreation possibilities and sprawling wilderness lands. If you happen to rent an RV in the Beehive State, you will enable yourself to have access to all that comes with it. Yuba State Park is a fantastic place to kick off your road trip the right way and it’s only several miles south on Interstate 15. The park is centered around Yuba Lake, a large man-made lake in the heart of Utah. This exceptional lake is straddled by a number of parks and campgrounds, like Yuba State Park and Yuba Lake State Recreation Area. You can kayak, canoe, boat, swim, or go fishing in the lake, or camp out beneath the stars in your Nephi camper rental. Scofield State Park is another lake-centric recreation area east of town on the other side of the national forest land. The Scofield Lake Reservoir was also artificially created by people to store and control water. You can hike, ride bicycles, or go off-roading around the large lake, but winter brings with it a new set of activities to consider. Ice-fishing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling are all commonly enjoyed at this delightful recreation area. There are two distinct camping areas with jaw-dropping views so staying the night in your Nephi RV rental is fantastic idea.

The real reason most people visit Utah is to get a glimpse of the stunning national parks found within its borders. When you rent an RV, you can get the most out of it by visiting somewhere like Capitol Reef National Park which is just a two-hour drive south of Nephi. The park was named for the white sandstone dome features reminiscent of a capitol building. Capitol Reef has crazy geological features, rigid mountains, deep canyons, and some unique looking monoliths due to its location on top of a fold in the Earth’s crust. There are even ancient petroglyphs etched into the ground that can only be seen from an elevated vantage point.

Zion National Park is farther to the south but well worth a visit. This crown jewel of the Utah parks is among the most popular parks in the country with well over four million visitors a year. Gorgeous red canyons and treacherous hiking trails leading to the peaks of large mountain ridges make for some thrilling trekking and sightseeing when you bring your Nephi RV rental for an adventure south. There are, of course, several campgrounds where you can stay should you need a little more time to fully explore the park.

RV Parks to Visit

Camping areas and RV parks are abundant in Utah due to its outdoor tourism and natural scenery. Big Mountain Campground is just outside of Nephi, with cabins, tent sites, and, of course, RV-friendly sites where you can park your Nephi camper rental. There are scenic hiking loops, swimming lakes, and golf courses in the area, and the park has its own general store and pool too.

You could also park the Nephi travel trailer rental at Jones High Country RV Camp, with spacious campsites beneath the canopy of trees. Pleasant Creek RV Campground Resort can be found down by Manti-La Sal National Forest. The resort has a dining area and restaurant, a swimming pool, playgrounds and movie nights for children, and more.

City Sightseeing

Nephi is not exactly the type of place you visit for a vacation with the intention of spending most of your time walking around the town center. There are restaurants and shops on every street corner, but other attractions can be found elsewhere. Provo is a short drive north on the interstate, and full of attractions. The Provo Pioneer Village is a fascinating place to learn about the perilous journey that settlers undertook to reach the promised lands of Utah over 150 years ago. This exciting park is run by loving volunteers who cherish recreating the mid-19th century in historic garb while bringing guests on a tour through time.

Brigham Young University is situated in Provo and has a variety of museums on campus that are open to the general public. The BYU Museum of Paleontology is a small, intimate space packed with incredible fossils and dinosaur skeletons found in Utah, among other places. The Museum of Art at Brigham Young University is another fabulous institution with an eclectic mix of religious art, sculptures, and Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs.
