The area was first used as a camping ground for Mormon settlers moving west on the Mormon Road but eventually, the spot was chosen to be a settlement of its own. The city is named for Nephi, a person in the Book of Mormon, a sacred text revered by the Mormon religion.

Explore the Outdoors
Utah is a large state teeming with exciting outdoor recreation possibilities and sprawling wilderness lands. If you happen to rent an RV in the Beehive State, you will enable yourself to have access to all that comes with it. Yuba State Park is a fantastic place to kick off your road trip the right way and it’s only several miles south on Interstate 15. The park is centered around Yuba Lake, a large man-made lake in the heart of Utah. This exceptional lake is straddled by a number of parks and campgrounds, like Yuba State Park and Yuba Lake State Recreation Area. You can kayak, canoe, boat, swim, or go fishing in the lake, or camp out beneath the stars in your Nephi camper rental. Scofield State Park is another lake-centric recreation area east of town on the other side of the national forest land. The Scofield Lake Reservoir was also artificially created by people to store and control water. You can hike, ride bicycles, or go off-roading around the large lake, but winter brings with it a new set of activities to consider. Ice-fishing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling are all commonly enjoyed at this delightful recreation area. There are two distinct camping areas with jaw-dropping views so staying the night in your Nephi RV rental is fantastic idea.
RV Parks to Visit
Camping areas and RV parks are abundant in Utah due to its outdoor tourism and natural scenery. Big Mountain Campground is just outside of Nephi, with cabins, tent sites, and, of course, RV-friendly sites where you can park your Nephi camper rental. There are scenic hiking loops, swimming lakes, and golf courses in the area, and the park has its own general store and pool too.
City Sightseeing
Nephi is not exactly the type of place you visit for a vacation with the intention of spending most of your time walking around the town center. There are restaurants and shops on every street corner, but other attractions can be found elsewhere. Provo is a short drive north on the interstate, and full of attractions. The Provo Pioneer Village is a fascinating place to learn about the perilous journey that settlers undertook to reach the promised lands of Utah over 150 years ago. This exciting park is run by loving volunteers who cherish recreating the mid-19th century in historic garb while bringing guests on a tour through time.
