Carbonado is located in the Carbon River Valley, around 50 miles from one of the state's largest towns, Seattle. It's the nearest town to the famous Mount Rainier National Park, making it an ideal place to rent an RV. When you book an RV in Carbonado, you can truly make the most of the great outdoors. There's a fantastic variety of state and national parks to visit in the surrounding area, while you're not too far from local towns and cities for any facilities or amenities you may need.

Originally a company boom town, Carbonado was an important coal mining community in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, providing local coal to the growing towns of Seattle and Tacoma. An unfortunate and deadly accident, alongside an economic downturn, followed by the closure of the railroad, decimated the town's population and economic lifeblood. Today's residents and visitors enjoy the community's rural character, its remote location, and spectacular scenery, just over 10 miles away from the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park.

When you're picking up your RV rental in Carbonado, you can stop by and view some of the historic remnants from the town's coal mining past. Main Street is still lined by some of the mining company's original employee housing. The rows of historic identical dwellings, the cemetery, as well as the old mine and the Carbonado Historical School District, are all vivid, interesting reminders of the town's past. Two surviving homesteads that supplied the once busy town are still in working order today and can be seen in the valley from the highway. Aside from taking in the historical elements, your Carbonado motorhome rental will give you the ultimate freedom to relax and explore this scenic area with its many miles of trails for hiking, biking, and nature watching.
