Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.

Hensley Lake is the product of a dam that was constructed in 1974 to help control floods and irrigation in the area. The dam is 184 feet tall, stretches over a mile long, and is the only major dam anywhere on the Fresno River. When you book an RV in Madera County, you’ll be able to visit the dam at your leisure, though a visit to the accompanying Hensley Lake might be more enjoyable and relaxing.
The reservoir, known as Hensley Lake, has a maximum fill amount of 90,000 acre-feet. The overall surface of the water covers over two square miles, and most importantly, it is open for public recreational use. There is a lot to do at the lake, which is why it draws visitors from nearby towns like Madera and Fresno. If the activities at Hensley Lake aren’t enough to keep you busy when you are camping with an RV in the area, head west to the Sierra National Forest for seemingly endless trees, trails, and outdoor opportunities.
