Camping with an RV brings the convenience of home to Mammoth Cave National Park. Mammoth Cave Campground, located near the park’s visitors’ center, has sites that are open seasonally and include potable water, a picnic area, grill, and fire ring. Restroom facilities are available within walking distance of the campsites. Laundry facilities are provided in addition to a dump station for RVs. The maximum length for RVs at Mammoth Cave is 38 feet and 26 feet for trailers. Hookups aren’t available. If the park’s campground is full or you prefer to camp near Mammoth Cave National Park, Singing Hills RV Park & Campgrounds in Cave City is centrally located so you can still visit all the local sites. At Singing Hills, you’re only two miles from Mammoth Cave National Park. Full hookups are available as well as restroom and shower facilities. Each campsite has a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. Motorhome camping is also available at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone at Mammoth Cave. Full-hookup sites with 30 or 50-amp service are available. Bathhouses are located within walking distance of the campsites, and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There are four comfort stations with showers. Additional amenities include potable water, Wi-Fi, and a coin-operated laundry. This kid-friendly park also offers fun activities, including jumping pillows, water slides, and mini golf.

After you’ve spent time at Mammoth Cave National Park, take a day and visit Dinosaur World Kentucky located in Cave City. You can participate in a fossil dig at the Bone Yard, walk among several life-sized dinosaur statues that appear very life-like, and visit the prehistoric museum and learn all about dinosaurs. Dinosaur World isn’t just a place for children to explore; adults will probably find this place just as fascinating! Camp in an RV near Mammoth Cave National Park and take a short drive over to Horse Cave, Kentucky and visit the Hidden River Cave and American Cave Museum. The Hidden River Cave has two rivers that flow underground and once provided electricity to the town of Horse Cave. The power plant and cave have been well-preserved, and visitors can take a guided tour through the cave and power plant. Back above ground, be sure to check out the American Cave Museum to learn about the geology and archeology of the area. While in Horse Cave, plan to visit the Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo. This is a unique zoo that features animals from Australia such as dingoes, emus, kookaburras, and of course, kangaroos. Visitors can also see animals native to North America, such as foxes and bison. There’s also a small collection of exotic birds. The entrance to Onyx Cave is inside the zoo, and cave tours are available.
