Getting Outdoors

Gateway Lake, and most of the waterways in Coffee County, are home to several species of bass. The lake is public; therefore, anglers camping at Gateway Lake will need to have a proper fishing license to catch fish there. Campers who are traveling with a boat can use their boats on the lake. Some other activities to do at Gateway Lake include swimming, skiing, and fishing.

Camping at Gateway Lake

Engineer Beach RV Park is a military famcamp located at Fort Rucker. Since the campground is located on an active military installation, outdoor enthusiasts need to be able to access military installations to use this park. Engineer Beach has water hookups and 50-amp electric hookups. Campers also have access to a dumping station. There are showers, restrooms, and a laundry facility as well.

Exploring the Area

The Boll Weevil Monument in downtown Enterprise is a unique statue that draws tourists from all over. The statue is one of the only monuments to an insect in the United States. The monument was erected in 1919 to commemorate a boll weevil infestation from 1918. The infestation devastated the cotton crop and spurred Enterprise to adopt the peanut as its cash crop. This revitalized the Enterprise economy.

Had an issue with the main slide. It was stuck in and the manual bar broke so we had to go buy some tools to fix it. No issues after that! Thank you
