Discover Roosevelt Lake RV rentals for memorable road trips

When you are thinking about renting an RV and heading out on a camping trip, consider a visit to Roosevelt Lake, the oldest artificial reservoir in Arizona. Formed by Theodore Roosevelt Dam on the Salt River, Roosevelt Lake is located within the Tonto National Forest, and it’s a good idea to book an RV in Gila County to explore the recreational activities offered at the lake and in the forest. A section of Roosevelt Lake falls within Maricopa County, while the city of Phoenix is a little over 80 miles from the lake, and definitely worth exploring on your motorhome camping trip.

Getting Outdoors

Camping with an RV at Roosevelt Lake is the perhaps the most convenient way to access the lake’s recreational offerings. Known for its excellent fishing, Roosevelt Lake is home to a variety of game fish. Species like crappie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, sunfish, flathead and channel catfish abound in the lake, although the lake is historically known for its bass fish populations. There are ample marina and boat launch facilities around the lake from where you can set out in your boat for a day of fishing. Fish-cleaning stations, live bait, and fishing supply rentals are available too. If you happen to be a novice fisher, this is a great lake to try out new fishing techniques.

Camping at Roosevelt Lake

Consider camping at Roosevelt Lake to enjoy easy access to the lake’s recreational facilities. The Roosevelt Lake Marina RV Park has 50 campsites equipped with full hookups and 30 and 50 amp electric service. Other amenities include big rig access, sewers, water, restrooms and showers, a camp store, café, and a clubhouse. There’s a playground to keep the kids busy, while boating and fishing access are available for your recreation. The highlight of this campground is, of course, the direct lake access. Pets are welcome here, so don't forget Fido.

Exploring the Area

Gila County campers will have plenty to explore in the nearby city of Globe, just 30 miles from Roosevelt Lake. This scenic Arizona city is also the county seat of Gila County and is located in the heart of the county. Serving as a mining camp in earlier times, it now oozes history and stunning scenery. Drive-in your Gila County camper rental to explore this historic city and its fine offerings.

Stephen was absolutely wonderful to work with! As former trailer owners ourselves, he allowed us to replace some of his trailer accessories with our own to make our surroundings more personally familiar. The trailer slept three younger grandchildren and Grams and Gramps comfortably, although, after a couple of "indoor rainy days", we were happy to be spending most of our time in the beautiful outdoors again!
We towed the trailer with our SUV and, after some apprehension about how that would work, we were very relieved that the SUV handled the tow load with no problems at all. We had the most wonderful time together for three weeks on the road with our grandkids, and the memories we built will last forever. Thank you, Stephen!

Super easy pickup and drop off experience. Alexander went over everything when we picked up and was very responsive during our trip when we had questions. Would absolutely book again!
