Discover DeGray Lake RV rentals for memorable road trips

DeGray Lake is located in western Arkansas at the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains, between Arkadelphia, Glenwood, and Malvern. This artificial lake was created in 1972 with the damming and impounding of the Caddo River. The construction of DeGray Lake and the DeGray Lake Resort State Park two years later has increased this era of Arkansas’ tourism industry. The lake’s famous reputation for recreation, combined with its place between two mountain ranges, makes it the ideal place to take an RV rental. Access to the lake with a rental RV can be mad via Highway 7 or Highway 84. Those looking for accommodating campgrounds nearby will not be disappointed as camping with an RV near DeGray Lake is common.

Getting Outdoors

DeGray Lake has long had a reputation for being one of western Arkansas’ premier fishing lakes, and you too can find out why. The lake is best known for its big catches of bass - varieties including largemouth, striped, hybrid, and smallmouth. Next is the fantastic variety of catfish, who, for the experienced angler, is famously harder to catch. Catfish species vary from flatheads, channel, and even blue. DeGray Lake campers have colossal two-hundred miles of shoreline to fish from, finding 'your spot' will not be hard.

Camping at DeGray Lake

Those folks RV camping at DeGray Lake do have several choices when it comes to picking out a campground. ‘Brushy Creek Campground’ is located right along the western shores of DeGray Lake and offers campers a range of facilities. Partial hookups are provided here, including 20, 30 amp electric and water. Facilities include a dump station, flushing toilets, shower block, and free WiFi. Pets are welcomed here but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Exploring the Area

Clark County Historical Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in local history or the history of the United States itself. Although small in stature, this charming local museum has a wide range of exhibitions that display a verity of artifacts from across the centuries. A highlight of the museum is its preserved wooden courthouse seats taken from Clark County courthouse. Another highlight is an original vintage train car from the Missouri Pacific Line, which can be seen within the grounds of the museum.
