One of the best routes is from the Cherry Lake Trailhead, which starts on the southern edge of the lake. The trail will take you into the Emigrant Wilderness, which then has a further 185 miles of trails just waiting to be explored, filled with trees, flower-filled meadows and glacial lakes.
