Chinese Camp lies to the east of places like Modesto and Stockton in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, on the cusp of wild natural beauty and unbeatable recreational excitement. The town itself is caught between two nearby lakes that double as recreation hotspots. New Melones Lake is north of Chinese Camp and is a suitable place to camp out with your Chinese Camp camper rental at one of two recreation areas. Tuttletown Recreation Area and Glory Hole Recreation Area sit beside the lake offering delightful lakefront camping. There is an excellent interpretive center at Tuttletown that seeks to educate visitors about the natural history of the New Melones Lake area.
