The peaceful community of Big Bear Lake is a magnificent little resort area in Southern California. Approximately 100 miles from downtown Los Angeles, and around 40 miles from San Bernardino, this rural paradise is popular all year round for its stunning scenery and refreshing lakeside recreation. The town is so popular in fact, that the population is said to swell to over 100,000 on certain weekends throughout the year.

The town was home to Serrano natives for 2,000 years before the arrival of settlers during the Gold Rush, which brought high numbers of people from back east. Now this gem of a town is located in the dead center of the rugged San Bernardino National Forest, which is a glorious attraction in its own right. In addition to its role as a summertime destination, people also flock to Big Bear Lake in winter time for its epic skiing and snowboarding. The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival is another reason to book an RV in Big Bear Lake and enjoy the festivities and indie film screenings. Big Bear Lake does after all have a glamorous history of being a filming destination for Hollywood productions, so that should say everything that needs to be said about the amazing little resort town.
