Into the Land of Condors

The California condors are some of the largest living land birds in North America. Their nearly 10-foot wingspan allows them to soar and glide at speeds up to 50 miles per hour and travel up to 150 miles a day in search of their next meal. The Topatopa Mountains, where the condors live protected, lie 10 miles north of Fillmore. See these magnificent birds in the wild from Sespe Creek, Alder Creek, Agua Blanca Creek and Bucksnort Trails which are open to the public.

Where to Park Your RV

One of the closest campgrounds to park the RV rental near Fillmore is a couple miles from the city center. You’ll find full hookups here plus laundry facilities, fire pits and grills, a playground and a pet area. There’s also a KOA campground in Santa Paula just a few miles away. Depending on where you want to go next, you'll find lodging options at the foot of the Topatopa Mountains in Lake Piru, by the shores of Castaic Lake, or in one of Ventura's laidback beaches. If you're traveling up or down the Pacific Coast, you'll find abundant parking spaces as you explore side roads on a day trip. Pismo Beach is a fantastic place to find an RV campground if you're coming down from San Luis Obispo and planning a longer journey on Highway 101.

Finding Southern California’s “Last Best Small Town”

Fillmore bills itself as "the last best small town in Southern California." Probably so, as its well-preserved turn-of-the-20th-century downtown architecture, most notably its often photographed City Hall, has been used time and again as a filming location.

Wow, just wow. From my initial questions to preparing the van was a five star experience. There was nothing they didn’t think of and it made my trip seem less and comfortable. They packed a stove, towels and what seemed like a full kitchen of items I didn’t know I needed until I did. The walkthrough of everything was detailed and truly helped ensure I was comfortable and knew what I had. Thank you for being incredible people and a pleasure to rent from. They are my go to moving forward and I couldn’t be happier. Cheers! Colorado is a my girl for life!

Todd and Megan are amazing outdoorsy hosts! They really go the extra mile to make it easy to rent their Vans! I rented the red van and it was fantastic! It comes equipped with a very comfortable bed and all the equipment needed for camping.
Pick up and drop off were a breeze!
I highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable option! 5 stars 🌟

Andy was a GREAT host! He saved our vacation after Outdoorsy had to cancel our previous reservation last minute. Not only was he quick to respond, but he was super communicative and friendly! He had everything dialed in for us when we arrived and even set up the sitting area for us outside! Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
