Visitors can also find non-native eucalyptus, black locust, pepper trees, and other species sprinkled throughout the woodlands.

Before you return to the city, make sure you spend a day at Mount Diablo State Park in Walnut Creek. The highlight of a visit is certain to be a hike to the summit of Mount Diablo and the incredible view afforded by this vantage point. On a clear day, it’s said that you can see almost 200 miles into the distance from the observation deck.
