Discover Lake Tulloch RV rentals for memorable road trips

Due to the surrounding area’s geography, Lake Tulloch vaguely is shaped like an X. Lake Tulloch got its start as a tiny stream. In 1880, Charles H. Tulloch saw a need for a water feature for the local miners to use and obtained the water rights to the creek. A few short years later, the local farmers recognized the possibility of having an easy water source for their crops and livestock, and working with Charles, redirected the water to flood some fields. Charles sold the land and water rights to the city, and three dams were built, effectively creating Lake Tulloch. Today, the lake is used as a source of hydroelectric power for the state, and also, as a recreational spot for many outdoor adventurers.

Getting Outdoors

Sheltered by low pine-clad hills, the calm lake reflects the bold blue California sky. A rich blue shade, the glistening water invites all types of watery recreational fun. Jet-ski, sail, parasail, kayak, swim, or fish. Though most of Lake Tulloch’s shoreline is privately owned, the lake itself is open for all to enjoy. A small stretch of the lake’s coast near the dam is open to the public. The lake’s marina has boats available for rent, too. Common fish caught on the lake include rainbow and brown trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, and bluegill. Brave souls occasionally will go cliff-diving, too.

Camping at Lake Tulloch

When you book an RV in Tuolumne County, be sure to figure out where you’ll park it while you embark on a watery adventure. Camping at Lake Tulloch is one option. Most sites at the RV campground are waterfront, with 50 amps hookups, water, and fire pits. There is a small center with a bathroom, showers, and a laundromat, as well.

Kevin’s trailer was super clean, and everything worked well. Pick up and drop off went smoothly. Highly recommend renting from Kevin. We spent 5 days on the coast camping and no issues.

What a great experience! Before reserving the camper we messaged the host to ask about pickup and drop off times - he got back to us within minutes and was generously accommodating. Everything was ready to roll when we arrived, and the camper was super clean and in great shape. Everything we needed for a quick and easy setup at the campsite was on board and ready to go.
We will definitely look to this host again when we travel to the Modesto area next spring. Thank you!

Jeremy is a very accommodating host. His camper van is in excellent condition and is easy to use. Jeremy provided a good overview before we left and answered one question while we were on the road. We had a wonderful trip to the Pinnacles.
