Discover Mendota RV rentals for memorable road trips

About a half-hour drive separates the small town of Mendota from the city of Fresno in central California. Mendota was a facility used for storage and switching by the Southern Pacific Railroad back in 1891. By 1892, Mendota had a post office, choosing the name Mendota in honor of Mendota, Illinois. Although it continued to grow at a speedy pace, Mendota was not formally incorporated until 1942.

The Great Outdoors

Mendota might not be the liveliest town you ever come across, but it sure does make sense as an outdoors-centric vacation destination. There are numerous places, parks, forests, mountains, and beaches you can reach with a few short hours in your Mendota camper rental, with nearly infinite others around the entire state. Pacheco State Park is a stunning park in the Diablo Range west of Mendota, with a large network of hiking and biking trails for guests to utilize. There are no camping areas within the park, but there are a series of historic buildings you can check out while you stroll through the mountain woods.

RV Parks

When you do decide to rent an RV in Mendota, there aren’t any places to stay within the town itself. You can, however, easily locate some cozy places to spend the night in nearby towns and attractions. Santa Nella RV Park is near Pacheco State Park and is easy to reach, with splendid views of the lake and mountains. The park is centrally located in town, so a short walk is all you need to get to nearby shops and eateries. On-site, there are dog walking areas, coin-operated laundry facilities, and restrooms.

City Sightseeing

Mendota is a lovely little community with lots of small-town charm; there are tons of tiny shops, restaurants, and bars lining the main strip. Outside of a few local wineries, there are not really any true attractions that come to mind, so venturing out of town is necessary for those hoping to attend a concert or visit a museum. Over in Chowchilla, the Fossil Discovery Center continues to impress and amaze people of all ages with insight into the prehistoric animals that roamed the planet. Educational movies, fully intact ancient animal skeletons, and informative displays help convey what the Earth once looked like millions of years ago.

Frank and Anna were both amazing and extremely helpful through the entire process. As a first time renter, I vastly underestimated the setting up process and I was extremely grateful to both of them for completing this process and walking me through it as well. 10/10, will definitely rent again!
