Situated in the serene Stanislaus National Forest, spending just a few days in Pinecrest, CA will give you the illusion you are miles away from the hustle and bustle, allowing you to forget about all of life’s worries. You are, in fact, only one-highway westwards away from one of three large cities in California: San Francisco, Sacramento and San Jose. Convenience and beauty at its best! Hop in your RV rental from Pinecrest today to get the best of both worlds!

Being so close to Yosemite National Park, the area has a rich history in natural resources. Once used by the Me-Wuk Indians as a trading ground, the Pinecrest quickly boomed due to its importance during the Gold Rush.

Although there were no gold veins found here, the town was an integral part of the aqueducts system used to wash the gold out of gravel and dirt. When the excitement of The Gold Rush calmed down, the area was used by the lumber industry and later on Strawberry Lake (now known as Pinecrest Lake) was built as a dam. Now, many tourists visit to explore the town’s huge lake and the hillsides that surround it.
