People come from all over the state and further afield to go RV camping at Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park and have a game on the park's Brazell's Creek Golf Course. This challenging 18-hole course is wonderfully scenic, designed by Georgia's own Denis Griffith. The Par 71 layout plays to just under 7000 yards from the tips and boasts five sets of tees. The 15th hole is arguably the signature hole on the course, playing over sprawling wetlands to an island green. For those that are golf enthusiasts, this should definitely be on your must-play list when in the state. The lake in the park is the perfect spot for both fishing and boating. During the summer months, those who are Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park camping are able to rent aqua cycles or fishing boats directly from the park, so you won't have to worry about bringing your own with you in your RV rental. There are docks available for anglers to try their luck with a line from the shore, rather than heading out on the water. Spending a day on a boat is a lovely, relaxing way to spend the day, giving you a unique opportunity to explore the shores of the lake and see the park from a different perspective. The lake is 12 acres in size and also welcomes private vessels, however only those with an electric motor are allowed. The park is filled with a variety of nature, and there is no better way to see it than by taking the mile-long nature trail. Be sure to pack your hiking boots as this is a trail that shouldn’t be missed on any motorhome camping adventure. The picnic tables are conveniently located around playgrounds and along the shores of the lake.
