So if you are an avid birdwatcher, don’t forget to pack a pair of binoculars when going RV camping at Laura S. Walker State Park.

The campground has 44 sites for RVs and long vehicles. There are no hookups at this state park. Since the campground is on the banks of the lake, visitors may use the boat ramp to launch their vessels into the water.

Exploring the Area

Waycross is a small college town, known as a doorway to the nearby Okefenokee Swamp. The architecture of this place is stunning, with many Spanish influences seen all across the downtown area. Visitors often start their tours at the Historic Rail Depot. This former Union Station is among the largest that are still around. The station was built in 1911 and used to be an important stop on the Atlantic Coast Line. Nowadays, it is frequented by curious people who want to take a peek inside this impressive building and be transported into the past thanks to the original interiors of the Union Station.

The host was prompt, courteous helpful. The camper had everything we needed. It was perfect for our week horse showing in Jacksonville. Thank you, Michael

Rick saved our trip to the Daytona 500 after another host on here Rob Estes canceled on us with less than 12 hours to go for our trip without a reason why. He was on the phone with outdoorsy at 930 at night answering questions and ensuring we had a camper for the following day. Then on the day of our trip another person in our group had a cancelation due to mechanical problems and Rick came through with a second camper for us. He dropped off and set up one camper, turned around and drove another one down to us that evening. He literally saved our trip. During our trip we had a issue with the generator (no fault of anyone) and he was messaging me the entire time until he found us another generator for our trip. If we could give him more than 5 stars we would. He genuinely cares about his guest and wants them to have a great time staying in his camper. We have rented from other camper rentals and they could take lessons from him on how to take care of guest. If you are looking at his campers look no further as Rick will ensure you have a great time in his camper and your trip will be a success.
