The park is named after Amos Reed Bingham, the man known for creating the spectacular park. When Amos erected the dam back in the ’30s, he aimed to produce electric power to the local community. Decades later, the well-known lake is an awesome destination for fishing, bird-watching, and camping, which is exactly what Amos had hoped to provide.
