The park is named after Amos Reed Bingham, the man known for creating the spectacular park. When Amos erected the dam back in the ’30s, he aimed to produce electric power to the local community. Since the small river couldn’t achieve this, he went on with the plan to create a recreational facility that would bring the locals together and make them closer. Decades later, the well-known lake is an awesome destination for fishing, bird-watching, and camping, which is exactly what Amos had hoped to provide. When you’re camping at Reed Bingham State Park, you’ll be spoiled for choice over the wide range of activities to engage in.
