Many aspects of the park are inspired by the ancient history of this site, which is steeped in the archaic traditions of the Woodland People. As you travel through the park, you notice much of the decor was inspired by the artistic traditions of its first residents. Sites have ample space, and are designed for enjoying the peace and quiet of the outdoors. Picnic tables and shelters on the site are convenient gathering spaces for friends and family. Daily and weekly rates are available for RVs, and guests can choose from sites with full hookups, those with just electrical and water, or opt for rustic campsites. Mounds State Park

Mounds State Park, located off I-69 east of Anderson, features 10 unique earthworks built by prehistoric Indians known as the Adena-Hopewell people. The largest earthwork, the Great Mound, is believed to have been constructed around 160 B.C. Archaeological surveys indicate the mounds were used as gathering for religious ceremonies, from where astronomical alignments could be viewed.
