Discover Wabash RV rentals for memorable road trips

The sleepy riverside city of Wabash is located southwest of Fort Wayne and directly east of Logansport. On the Wabash River from where it derives its name, Wabash was founded during the 1830s after the land was taken from local Potawatomi and Miami Native Americans as a result of the Treaty of Paradise Spring. The proximity of both of Wabash and Erie Canal meant the town grew quickly.

There are lots of small towns nearby including Peru, and if you want to embark on a short road trip, the Fort Wayne is less than an hour's drive away. There are some intriguing places to visit within Wabash, and one of the most popular is the Dr. James Ford Historic Home. This 19th-century home was also a doctor's office which has been restored to its original look, giving visitors an insight into what life was like for a physician during the Civil War. Along with the house is a beautiful Victorian-era garden, complete with herbs and vegetables used in medicines. Dr. Ford led a remarkable life, and this is evident in his family home.
