The area officially became a state park in 1949, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources maintains it.

Lake Loramie is undoubtedly the main feature of Lake Loramie State Park. The clear waters have healthy populations of bluegill, carp, largemouth bass, and crappie. Anglers may fish from a boat or stay on dry land and throw a line from one of four fishing piers. Swimming is also popular among Lake Loramie State Park campers, especially during summer, when the temperature of the water is pleasant. The lake has one large and well-maintained sandy beach. Hiking is a huge activity at Lake Loramie State Park. Five trails are available to visitors, and they are quite easy to conquer. Only one of them is a bit more challenging. Instead, Lake Loramie State Park turns into a spot for winter recreation. Visitors may go snowshoeing or snowmobiling on the nearby trails. Camping at Lake Loramie State Park

Lake Loramie State Park has a large campground with all the features required for a comfortable stay. Amenities include showers, toilets, picnic areas, miniature golf courses, and playgrounds. Free WiFi is available in the campground’s office. There is a total of 177 campsites that are large enough to accommodate long vehicles and RVs. Each campsite has a small patio and a picnic table.

Campers will have access to full hookups at 20 of those sites. Electric hookups are available at 142 sites. This campground may get crowded at the peak of the season, and it is recommended that you reserve your spot in advance. Exploring the Area

Located in western Ohio, Dayton is one of the most interesting cities in this part of the state. It is nicknamed the birthplace of aviation because Dayton is the hometown of the Wright brothers.
