Parson, Kansas is about 45 miles west of Pittsburg and a two-hour drive from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Founded in the 1870s, this town was developed around the intersection of multiple railroads that ran throughout the state. Trading and transportation opportunities led to booming business and a thriving population, both of which are still evident in the city today. However, most of the traveling is done via Highway 59 and Highway 400 these days.
